Questions about privacy and Facebook have always existed; from the bug in June 2013 that involved exposure of personal information of some users or the major data leak in February 2018. Facebook has always strived to fight the questions in time too, in one such fight Facebook has brought in a "Profile Lock" feature .
Profile lock feature is a safety feature that lets users lock their profiles for everyone except their friends. That means only the one's added as friends in the user's profile will be able to see the posts, photos and videos made and / or shared by the user.
“We are committed to providing a safe platform for people to express themselves. We are deeply aware of the concerns people in India, particularly women, have about protecting their online profile. Today, we are announcing a new feature which, in one easy step, will give people a lot more control, ensure their privacy and keep them safe and secure online, "said Aankhi Das, Policy Director of Facebook India.
Features:
Once applied fully; users who are not added as friends will not be able to see your post, photo or video. Zooming in, saving sharing profile pictures and cover pictures will also be not not possible. Turning on the feature will also add a blue badge to the users's profile to keep them reminded of the feature being activated. This feature works in tandem with the profile picture guard that was introduced three years ago.
Where to find the feature?
Head over to your profile page> there will be more section below your name; click on it and "lock profile" will be visible that will restrict access of your activity on Facebook to friends only.
